Summer has arrived in Wisconsin, along with hot weather. Choppy, having to don a fur coat for our walks, understandably wants a way to cool off. Unfortunately, this means I am now having to constantly police her when we are around ponds, lest she go for a little wade to cool down. It requires constant vigilance or, as I found out over the weekend, I’ll come home with a wet dog.
Also, we already hit 100 miles for the year – so far, so good!

At least until they do the doggie shake – then I want nothing to do with a wet dog!

Isn’t it? And it is something a lot of people could keep in mind.

Yes, more humility is needed with uprights. 😉

It’s gotten to the point where I get a little upset when we don’t get a chance to get a couple miles in to start the day – we got caught in a rainstorm yesterday and only got a mile in.

Some of it is taller than me – when we walk through it, I imagine I’m getting a taste of what it was like to walk across the prairies of long ago.

You’re doing great! Tippy gets in the pond sometimes. I just let her and hose her off when we get home.

Some ponds around here are better than others – the one in our backyard is gross (and if she went in that one regularly, she’d need a lot of baths! – Best to just keep her out of that one entirely).

Funny quote and love Choppy’s “free spirited, jump into the pond” spirit! ❤

Thankfully, it was hot enough at that point she
dried off a lot before we got home, so not a lot of water got dragged into the house.
