A heads up – we’re behind on comments and won’t get caught up until early this week. I hope everyone is having a good weekend – we certainly are (it’s why I’m completely absent from the comments and other blogs)!

I had never snowshoed before – it was a lot of work! I actually didn’t get terribly far before I opted for walking along well-trodden paths in my boots.

It’s like learning to walk all over again!

It was – and I don’t think I have the same amount of energy as my baby self!

This photo is gorgeous. Like an inspirational poster without any wordy inspiration yet, that makes me like this photo better than an actual inspirational poster because I usually don’t find them so inspirational. [I’ll be quiet now.]

Ha! They aren’t usually terribly inspirational. Give me a picture of nature alone any day!

An all-by-yourself walk! Cold! The sun just came up! I saw today that you asked me on the 9th how much snow we got on the 8th. (25 miles South of Boston) we did get 18” next day was very cold, then a warmer week…some places 60°! So lots of the snow melted.

Yup – Choppy hung with Izzy for the weekend at the kennel.
And that’s a lot of snow. We get the bitter cold, but I can count the number of times we have seen that much snow in one storm on a hand (that said, we regularly have that much snow on the ground, it just gets there gradually).

Come visit us, yesterday 70. And Choppy – bring Sarah. Schooner has to stay home or we may mistake her for a squirrel. wag wag Max & Bella (using their biped as typist). 🙂

Thanks! We did have a great weekend – and I wasn’t too cold, even though I spent all day Saturday and Sunday out in the weather.

Sounds like an adventure. As I write this it is 37 °C outside. I’m so grateful for an air conditioned building.

I would be, too!

Looks beautiful, but a little too cold for being out long. Enjoy.

We were actually out snowmobiling all day Saturday and Sunday (at least, post-walk). It’s cold, but if you’re dressed for it, you don’t really notice it!

I don’t think I have enough clothes to be dressed for that!

You can rent them! They make it very easy for people to try it and see if they like it.

That snow is out in full force ! How divine 🙂

At least up north! We arrived home to rain, so ours is melting away quickly (well, at least when the rain doesn’t turn to ice, which is what it has done overnight).

Love how the sun is blinking through the trees… terribly romantic 😄 The cold though not so much 😉 I’m just back from my trip to the library on my bike and let me tell you it’s no fun on ice!

Oh, ice is the worst! Give me a foot of snow over half an inch of ice any day!

It really is! Also it lacks that lovely crunching sound when walking over. Except when I want to skate, then ice is actually preferable 😉

True! This is why it’s good we have a pond in the yard – it freezes and gives us a place to ice skate. Hopefully, it’s the only ice around!

Wow! Your very own skating place! That’s beyond cool (sorry for the bad pun 😉)!

Hey, if you want to pun, I’m definitely not going to stop you. Considering how many puns I use on the blog on a daily basis, I can’t even say anything!
