In case you missed it, we already had one Howlidays post today. It was rather morbid. So is this one, but only because the first thing I think of when I think of Marie Antoinette is the guillotine.

Marie Antoinette is a much-maligned figure in history. Given to the French as a “peace offering” when she was just a girl, public opinion turned against her because of her husband. She was accused of squandering money when the economy was bad and was made a scapegoat. She never actually said, “Let them eat cake.” The French people were amazed at how tiny she was when she was led out for execution and the last words she spoke were to apologize to the executioner for stepping on his foot. The spin doctors were busy back then, too! Woof!

Thanks for the input! I always love hearing the truth after a well known story has been around for awhile.

I love Scooner’s intense stare to bacon cake. Choppy looks down today. Is she okay?

I think she was tired of waiting for us to get Schooner in position. She is the consummate professional at this – gets to her mark, does her thing. Schooner is a diva and has no desire to participate.
