Day 46 has brought a return of the heat and humidity that had taken a couple days off. I’m not terribly enthused about this development.
Walk One:
Date: June 15, 2016
Location: Home
Length: 1.3 Miles
Who: Sarah & Choppy
Walk Two:
Date: June 15, 2016
Location: Home
Length: 1.3 Miles
Who: Sarah, Paul & Choppy
I’m so afraid of my dogs getting ticks right now.

The first time Choppy had one, I was convinced she had a cancerous growth. Then my co-worker was like, “that’s a tick,” and unceremoniously pulled it right off of her. So disgusting. Except now that I’ve done it a couple times, I am the same way. It’s still gross, though.

Walking in heat and humidity is not so much fun but congrats on getting it done. Great pictures. Hugs

Thankfully, it has cooled down a bit. I get the feeling it’s going to be a lot like this all summer, though – heat and humidity, and a break every now and then.

I figure it is going to be hot and humid here all summer too, most of our summers usually are, but this year the heat and high humidity started early.

Guess Choppy still had to ‘walk’ off some of the contents of the leftovers you brought home so chasing bunnies really helped 🙂 Love you Choppy 🙂
Here in South Africa, if you are wanting to take your leftovers home, from a restaurant …it is known as a ‘doggy bag’ 🙂 quite appropriate now in Choppy’s (and Schooner’s) case. LOL

We definitely refer to it as a doggy bag here as well! Choppy regularly gets the contents of the bags, but not always. This was supposed to be one of the “not always” times!

Choppy still looking super happy! 🙂
I was wondering today when I walked my dogs, how long it takes you to do your walks, generally?

Our morning walk (which is almost always the same) is about 1.3 miles and takes us 25-30 minutes. On the weekend, I usually just take an hour or more and walk where the mood takes me – the mileage on that just follows!

Cool thanks. I just wondered. 🙂 I usually walk about 30 mins or so with LM, but it is a fast walk. And then 15 to 20 with SL at Zimmer Frame speed! We watch snails zoom past us! 🙂

Too funny!
I think the timing of the walks varies mostly depending on how much time Choppy spends off of her leash. If I have to hold her, we go fast because she can set a fast pace. If I let her off of the leash, she can wander and I can dawdle!

Yep, makes sense. 🙂

I think from my observations of Nina, some dogs just love the chase more than the catch. So great Choppy got to expend some of that extra energy chasing rabbits without harming them. 🙂
Ugh on both the heat and humidity thing. Is it like here where even at 9 at night it is still just a tad too hot? I love how sunny summer is, but not the heat. At least you got some walks in though, so that is great! 😀 😀

Our evenings are generally quite pleasant – most summers, we tote our sweatshirts everywhere because once the sun goes down, so does the temperature. It’s actually far above average, temperature- and humidity-wise this year!
And Choppy is definitely Nina like in that the chase is really the game.

I had to make her stay there – she kept coming out of the weeds before I could snap a picture.
