Day 45 of the Dog Walk Challenge is here.
Choppy and Schooner are celebrating National Bathroom Reading Month today!
I have a little story to tell you.
Last night, Paul and I went out to supper with my parents, and I came home with some leftovers. Instead of putting them directly into the fridge, I placed the box of leftovers on the counter and ran upstairs to deal with some laundry.
This turns out to have been a bad choice.
A few minutes later, I came back downstairs, and saw that the container of leftovers was no longer on the counter, but on the floor. Moreover, it was now devoid of the actual leftovers, and someone had chewed up part of the box itself.
Sitting oh-so-innocently next to the crime scene were a certain dog and cat.
As far as I can tell, having not seen the actual crime go down but knowing each of the two suspects well, the feline one knocked the container of leftovers off of the counter, and the canine one ate them up. I’m guessing it was the former who was responsible for chewing up the container, though that could have been a shared activity.
Basically, this is just a long way of saying that Choppy and Schooner are officially working together.
Paul and I are doomed.

Team work. You can’t beat it for getting a job done! 🙂

Especially when that job comes with tasty rewards!

Definitely doomed. Still, at least you can work as a team too…..
I couldn’t leave anything on the counter either when we had cats. I once caught one delicately licking out the cheese grater. Ouch!

You think I would have learned, but more trouble occurred last night (dog not involved). I am hoping to get a post on it later today, so I will hold off discussing it for now.

I hope it’s Choppy who is the boss of Schooner…

I’m not sure who is the boss – or who thinks they are the boss. I’m just guessing it is no longer the two humans around here!

Ha!!! You have them working together so much with photos, what do you expect? lol!!!!! They wanted payment!! 🙂 DakotasDen

Apparently so! I should have known I couldn’t get away with minimum wage pay forever!

LOL, so I am laughing so hard right now. Smart ones they are – yes, you and Paul are doomed for sure! 🙂

We definitely are – thankfully, no food disappeared last night. Mostly because I closely guarded everything I left out!

So long as they leave my shoes alone, I will be OK *goes to closet and makes sure door is shut*.

Schooner is looking at Choppy with that accusatory look. Faking innocence. Ha! Nice try, buddy.

Cats make great liars – of course, it’s probably because they just view it as the truth seen from a different point of view.

It’s always sad when critters decide to enter into a life of crime. But from the evidence at hand, it’s just possible both suspects have been framed—in a photo. 😀

That sounds like my jokes – I wish I would have thought of it!

Sarah, I think that was one of those jokes you had tucked away in your private safe for future use. Uh… I… I just happened to run across it—I must have been sleep walking. Yeah that’s it, I… I was sleep walking! Anyway, with good material being in short supply, I figured you wouldn’t mind if I borrowed some of yours. Thanks! 😀

Yes it appears they are partners in crime. But look at that face, how could you be mad.

Well, they were good leftovers – I was hoping to eat them! These two…

I’m going to have to become the house police if they keep up their criminal ways!

Cats and counters definitely go together. I caught mine up there more than once or I would hear the tell tale thud of the jump down as I approached lol

Schooner has pretty much realized he isn’t allowed up there – but that only applies when we are watching. We, too, hear the telltale thumps when we aren’t in the room!

Ooops 🙂 It is so funny though, look at those expressions on their faces, so innocent …. 🙂

I wonder what the “leftovers” were? Shrimp? 🍤🍤 Steak? Pizza? 🍕🍕 Spaghetti? 🍝Probably not a salad!

It was chicken/sausage/shrimp on rice. So tasty – apparently I wasn’t the only one who thought so!

Pups and kitties make the best partners. My brother kitty pup Linus (he thinks he’s a dog) helps my sisters and I out a lot. We’ve been a team for 3 years now! ~nose nudges Belle for the rest of the Pups and Kitties.

Oh boy. You two are doomed. Well. Of course the first lesson you need to learn is, never turn your back on the ocean or two starving animals.
I’m sure they were staaaaarving. Why else were they so desperate to get the food? 😉

Obviously they were starving. It had been almost three minutes since they had a treat!

Great team work 🙂 And I like the way you said supper, cute.
By the way, you know already leaving that food on the counter was a bad choice right 🙂
Take care.

I do know the leaving of the leftovers on the counter was a poor choice now!
As for supper, it amuses people here. I’ve always called it supper. Dinner is completely different in my mind!

I am amazed at the bond formed by the duo…an unlikely pair to be partners in crime…you have Bonnie and Clyde. .win win…food for both!!😁

They are unlikely partners – but if it is win win for them, does that mean it is lose lose for the two humans in the house?
