It’s a Wednesday trip down memory lane – back to 2013, when Choppy and I visited Padre Island.

Choppy, you are so funny. So is your mom. My mom would’ve done the same thing – try to force me into the waves when I was afraid. I have never been to the beach, but once I stepped in the sand on the baseball field and lost my mind running in circles. This makes Mom skittish about taking me to the beach. If I ever do go, I will also try to find something nasty to roll in. That would make the ride home extra fun!
Love and licks,
Cupcake

There are many very nasty things to roll in at the beach. Choppy seems to make a habit of finding them. And thankfully, she has since gotten over her fear of waves – she doesn’t like them, but at least she doesn’t run away from them (as much) any more!

Hi Sarah,
We’ll be down there – well, Port Isabel and South Padre Island actually – for our anniversary in August. Looking forward to the beach again, even if nowadays there seem to be sharks around and flesh eating bacteria.
Have a good one,
Pit

I’m already worried about a beach trip next year! The places seem like a good way to court death these days!

Nice. I have fond memories of Padre Island … and one bad memory of the worst sunburn I’ve ever had in my life!

As someone whose skin has never heard the word “tan” (let alone experienced it), this sounds like a horrible experience.
