For the first time in a long while, we were at home this last weekend – not that this stopped us from going somewhere! On Saturday, we took Choppy to Hawthorn Park – a local county park. Like a larger state park, it has a campground, a lake and a lot of things to do, but it’s located right outside of the city where we live, which makes it an easy afternoon trip.
And yes, I took pictures. Enjoy!
Our first stop was the Smith Labyrinth. We did not see David Bowie while we were there, though I may have serenaded Paul with some choice David Bowie songs. (For those of you on whom this caption was lost, click here – you won’t regret it. And for those who knew exactly what I was talking about, click that link and enjoy).Choppy didn’t quite understand how to make her way through the labyrinth. Here she is blatantly crossing a line to get closer to the end of the path.If there is water, Choppy will be wading. Also, it wouldn’t be a walk by a lake if I didn’t force Choppy into posing. And…a pretty picture of chairs by the lake. You can sit and contemplate life and the meaning of everything here. Or you can complain about the bugs and mosquitoes. I would probably end up doing the latter.
Oh my I think I’m a little bit in love with Choppy. We had a similar dog, but smaller, so cute:))

She really did! And I can’t count how many times I have seen that movie (and perhaps I don’t want to know).
