More pictures of our trip on the Alaska Highway – this time, from our drive to the Tetsa River. And apologies if there are all sorts of typing mistakes from here on out. As you will find out a few posts from now, things did not go smoothly for me down the road. Not smoothly at all.

Bison in the road? I'll believe that one when I see it.

Choppy and I camped on the Tetsa River - unlike Choppy, I refrained from actually getting in the river.
Choppy and I camped on the Tetsa River – unlike Choppy, I refrained from actually getting in the river. We seem to get rained on every night. I don’t need to add water from a nearly freezing northern Canadian river to the constant dampness.
Another campsite, another night of the flamingos. Also? Another night of rain. It doesn't get any less annoying the more it happens.

In case you can't read it, the sign behind the water pump says "Boil Water For 15 min. Before Consumption." Considering most places only suggest 2 or 5 minutes of boiling, I wonder what exactly is so bad about this water. And am thankful I filled up my water jugs at the last stop, where the water was suitable for drinking without any boiling.

Choppy: enjoying the fruits of my labors (here, putting up the tent and cooking supper) without any contribution. On the plus side, her inability to talk at least prevents her from taunting me from her place in the relatively mosquito free location that is the tent.
