Questions About Choppy

What kind of dog is Choppy?

She’s a dog of unknown provenance. Also known as a mutt.

Do you have any idea what kind of dog she is?

An awesome kind.

Have you ever thought about getting a DNA test to know what kind of mutt Choppy is?

Yes. But I don’t trust any DNA test that requires a photograph. It seems to me, if the DNA test actually works, the picture is superfluous.

How big is Choppy?

She is about the size of a 50 pound dog, but she weighs somewhat (read: a lot) more than her size suggests. She is rather stout. Some people refer to her as fat. I like to think of her as a hearty eater.

Where did you get Choppy?

I got her at the Terre Haute Humane Society.

How long have you had Choppy?

Just over six years. She was about 12 weeks old when I got her in late February/early March 2009. I picked her out at the end of February, and brought her home in March—hence the two dates.

How did Choppy get her name?

Choppy is not her full name. Her full name is Tchoupitoulas, after the street in New Orleans. My sister and I have been going to Mardi Gras for years, and I got Choppy just a few days after returning from a Mardi Gras trip that happened to coincide with my 30th birthday. Naming her after a street in New Orleans seemed like a good idea, and Tchoupitoulas Street has been the site of numerous amusing stories during those New Orleans trips. And thus, Choppy got her name.

Does Choppy enjoy being in the car?

She loves it. Or at least, she seems to. She hasn’t confirmed this one way or another, but until she starts refusing to get in the car, I’m going to assume she enjoys it.

Questions About Sarah

Are you the evil Sarah Choppy talks about on her Facebook page?

Yes. Unless Choppy is leading a second life I have no idea about with some other woman named Sarah who insists on dressing her up in the same clothes I have purchased for her.

  1. You’ve probaly already been told this but I’m too lazy to search the entire site! Choppy looks like a lot of dogs we have in Australia that are part Kelpie – I think that’s where she gets her beautiful eyebrows that she uses so expressively when posing in her outfits, lol 😉

      1. Oooh, Choppy could visit her Aussie cousins! Wearing a Crocodile Dundee hat, lol! (nah, don’t do that, our dog quarantine laws are horrendous 😦 )
