We’re still a ways away from it being strawberry picking time here (clearly, whoever made up this holiday was not from Wisconsin), but Choppy is ready to help when that day arrives.

I love strawberries! Now it is strawberry season here in Bavaria, and I eat the every day. My favorite breakfast dish is fresh baked whaffles with sugared strawberries and whipped cream. 😉

….sounds delicious! Maybe with a side of 🥓….that’s 🥓 on the side…not a whole side of 🥓

Thank you for the inspiration, I will try that. 😉

Ah, you are well-ahead of us on the strawberries! Although I do enjoy how cheap they get for us this time of year, even before ours are ready and they are extremely cheap (and delicious).

Somehow….I’m not sure why…😹😂…I totally expected Choppy would help celebrate by balancing a strawberry!

I am OK with the balancing! I have seen her pull raspberries off of bushes to eat before. If the alternative is her eating the delicious strawberries I want to eat, she is going to wear them all the time!

hahaha I was gonna say – Strawberries already?
How does Choppy manage to keep the strawberry at that angle?? 😀

It sat on there really well – I think the shape of the strawberry was perfect to sit on that part of her head.

You are lucky in Choppy’s head shape then, as LM is quite domed! 😀 Still, you could always have fixed the strawberry there with a little whipped cream! 😀

Choppy would definitely have enjoyed that!

She suits that, like a big ruby on her brow. Choppy needs a ruby tiara.

Mind you, wouldn’t surprise me at all if she already has one.

No ruby tiara, but you *may* get to see a tiara later this week for one of these holidays!

Oh yum! Love strawberries. The ex was good at growing them and we bartered with neighbours who grew something different. Hubby and I had a go in the cottage and were doing quite well until a blackbird found a way to peck at the fruit under the netting. Have you ever seen a bird dive bomb in reverse? It’s quite funny, but it ruined my ‘prize’ berry!

Oh, I have never seen this, but I can imagine! If we had more space, strawberries are something I would grow immediately. My parents have a lot of space, but my dad doesn’t grow them. Oh well! I guess I’ll just have to continue stalking our farmers markets for them!

Yes, the cheeky bird had his eye on my luscious strawberry which was beginning to ripen nicely for the picking. We’d netted the barrel, but caught the little blighter actually underneath and jumping UP to peck at the fruit. I used to love watching the birds in the garden at the cottage. I’m pleased to say that now we’ve got the feeders up here, they’re starting to come in.

Squirrels & Turkeys are very uninvited ‘guests’ in the berry patches

No turkeys, doubtful a squirrel here, but you never know!

Watching the birds is always nice here – they are such fun, smart little creatures.

We have loads of sparrows and starlings at the moment, plus a few blackbirds, one great tit so far, and some rather porky pigeons!

At least yours are all birds – these days, we have a bevy of squirrels, chipmunks, and even some rabbits who join the birds!

No. no, and no, although apparently last year rats were a nuisance. Hubby was in pest control, so he’s no stranger to dealing with them.

Ugh, rats! I would rather have all our critters!

Believe me, they enter our garden but they never leave!

Choppy looks like she is in a trance as she tries to stair at that strawberry between her eyes! Sorry you don’t have the strawberry season up there as yet. But don’t worry…we have plenty down here to ship to your stores up there to keep you guys going until your locally grown ones are available.

I’m always impatient for it – and then usually eat more than my fair share (to the point where I am sometimes no longer interested in eating any more strawberries!).

There is an over-abundance in a super short period.

Choppy is perfectly formed for this balancing act. I agree with someone above, that she looks like she is trying to see it. She’s going to be cross eyed. LOL It is strawberry season here, but the farms that used to allow people to come pick have all closed. We’re so disappointed, as the ones that pick them and then sale are much more expensive. We may just have to start trying to grow some of our own.

There is nothing like fresh picked strawberries. We still have many of the pick-your-own places, though I am the opposite of you – I would much rather pay to have someone else pick them for me! Every time I have picked them myself, I seem to end up eating more than I intended!

I love the way Choppy put her ears down so as to align with the shape of the strawberry. Well done Choppy for delivery the “A” photo of the her face with the strawberry! LOL!

I can practically smell the sweet deliciousness from that berry! Hope Choppy received it as a treat for the balancing act.

She got a dog biscuit – she prefers that to the strawberry (and as I prefer the strawberry, it all works out).

Ha ha!! Yes- when I got home! I ate a whole pint by myself! Yum! It was fun. A couple miles from our house there’s a nice patch. No weeds and big strawberries.
