Our walks this week were wonderful – the red-winged blackbirds are back, there are cranes calling overhead as they head north, and it feels like spring.
We’ll just try to ignore the several inches of snow that fell last night.

We really do get in a lot of nice ones. I love that we have great places to walk without even getting in a car.

I know that is a luxury for sure

Spring is my favorite time of the year…birds singing every morning, grass is a bright green, flowers are blooming, etc. You do have to ignore that pesky snow though. Hope it melts soon. Great walking. I am starting a jogging/running program that will get me back into running. It’s the only way that I can lose weight and I need to lose about 30 pound.

Good luck with the jogging – I’m just not a runner. I’ve tried before, but I just don’t enjoy it.

To say I enjoy it would be a stretch. But, I do enjoy the feeling after I get done and it is the only way I have found that I can lose weight. Walking and tennis don’t do it for me.

I would love to try tennis – I think I would enjoy it far more than running. The times I played it as a kid, I always thought it was fun. Of course, I’m not really doing it to lose weight, just to stay in shape.

You should. Tennis is so much fun and I’ve met a lot of really nice people I wouldn’t have otherwise. It is a sport that you can do as you age too.

That’s maybe the best reason to take it up – you can do it as you age. I think that’s part of the reason why I like walking. I’d also like to golf more.

I’ve only golfed once in my life. I enjoyed it, but can’t really judge after one time…and only 9 holes because it rained. But, it is also one of those sports that you can continue as you age.

I also like the part where someone brings you drinks on a little cart.

Hahahaha You don’t get that with tennis!

We are inspired by how devoted you are to walk the dogs. We might have to get off the couch to take the girls out.

You should definitely get out – I have really grown to love our long walks.

I’m glad you like them – definitely a lot different here than Singapore!

Yes. In Singapore it is a lot of buildings though there are now pockets of green lungs and parks interwoven into our city scape. At your end the expanse of land, waters, flora and fauna is such a treat as you can see nothing but unending greenery or blue skies. I promise self that once I get a chance to retire, I will go for longer walks and stop to smell the proverbial flowers. Enjoy your walks and I do envy you and Choppy 🙂 Garfield Hugs.

You won’t regret those walks, even if they have to wait for retirement. I even enjoy waking up early to do them (something I would never have thought would be the case even a few years ago).

So jealous of your snow. It’s dry and brown and we’re hoping there are some spring storms soon. Happy trails.

I must say where you walk and take pics, is amazing. 🙂

It will be more amazing come summer and some green. I’m going to try to get to some more places around here this summer and show off some more of the beauty around where we live.
