Today is Old Stuff Day. I guess compared to Schooner, Choppy is old – this week is her Gotcha Week. Nine years ago, the little fluffball now known as Choppy came home with me from the humane society. Happy Gotcha Week, Choppy!
And how about an outtake? Sometimes, Schooner is cooperative to the point of boredom. Taking this picture, even cleaning himself was a better option than the picture.
Aw, Choppy, old girl… I mean, ya sweet thang, you! Schooner simply wants you to be honored for A-L-L your years on this planet…

Let’s go with that – though I suspect Schooner is just happy Choppy is old and slow and can’t catch him.

Happy gotcha day Choppy. Bikkies, treats and hugs by proxy, and some for Schooner too if you’re having a party.

She definitely had a good Gotcha Week (then again, all her weeks seem pretty good).

I guess Schooner just wants to look his best for his photos.

And with all the walking these days, I’m sure she is feeling younger than many dogs her age.

I feel like Schooner when I’m in front of the camera too. I’m much more comfortable behind the camera. 😃

Maybe that’s it – he’s just camera-shy.

Maybe. More likely that he’s just a cat being a cat though. 😃

Happy Gotcha Day Choppy! You’re definitely not old! 🙂
I learnt of Gotcha Day from you guys and Little Monkey had hers recently while you were on holiday. I’ve had her 11 years now! 🙂

It’s nice to have a day to celebrate the pups whose birthdays are unknown – they deserve a fun day, too!

Sarah your pets are great and have grest personalities. They seem so easy going.

Choppy is definitely easy-going. Schooner? Not so much.

I can imagine how happy Sarah was to bring you home….just after her Birthday! Congratulations! ‘The Chosen Choppy’….glad you keep yourself clean, Schooner, you handsome dude!

She was a fantastic birthday gift to myself – I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy having her in my life when I brought her home all those years ago.

Well, Schooner is a very neat cat, maybe he did want to make sure that every hair of his coat sits on the right place before being photographed. 😉

Maybe when he doesn’t sit well for me, he’s just upset he doesn’t look his best.

Until just 6 years ago, I had a Norwegian Elkhound who was 17years & 1 1/2 months!

She’s definitely young compared to those pups – though she does get her senior checkups now. No more of those puppy/adult checkups. I’m just wondering why she doesn’t get a senior discount at the vet.

Happy Gotcha Week, Choppy. Think you and Sarah both did well out of that transaction.

Thanks – we definitely both made out well on that particular transaction.

Choppy does look rather dignified in this picture! I would agree that she is like fine wine. Happy Gotcha week Choppy!!!! I think you are one lucky dog to have the family that you do – sorry, but I am including the cat in that statement.

She would agree – except that cat part. She’s still hoping we get rid of him, I’m sure.

Another great pic, so funny. The real coup of course would be managing to hang a card around the cat’s neck…best of luck with that one.

I think we’ll leave the cat alone for now – though he will sometimes let me put something around his neck. I’m still hopeful one day he will let me dress him up.
