Some cats love to twist themselves into cat pretzels. Schooner isn’t normally one of them, but perhaps he is changing his ways, because this is how I caught him snoozing the other day. He’s got a long way to go to show up some other cats I’ve seen, but this is a good start.
Schooner looks so comfy….keeping his furry belly warm……his tail-tip is so adorable. Nice to be so nimble.

I meant flexible…not sure you can be nimble while asleep 🤭

Even in my most nimble days, this would have been impossible.

No wonder he is so good at napping, then.

Looks like he’s going around the bend.

I hope not – if he is, that suggests others in the household drove him to it.

Hi Sarah, as a lawyer, and therefore rather detail oriented, you may wish to correct the spelling of contortionist in the subject line. As for contorting? Perhaps we could ship Ray down to you for a couple of weeks so he could at least show schooner how to get tangled up in legs. What could possibly go wrong? 🙂

(I saw there was an ‘o’ missing, but decided not to comment on it….everyone makes mistakes 🙂)

Thank you! I didn’t notice the mistake. It’s corrected now.
Ray really does get himself twisted up like a pretzel – Schooner could use a lesson or two from him (though, as you say, what could possibly go wrong?).

Aw, I want to curl up with hm and get all comfy! Schooner, you are making me miss my sweet kitty, Baby! ❤

Schooner is a good one for cozying up – he sleeps curled up with us in bed at night (and with very little disturbance of the humans, for which we are grateful).

He does tend to find nice soft spots for his naps.

Flexibility….a luxury most humans choose to neglect! Proof that cats and dogs can be smarter than their human counterparts. 🙂

Awww. He looks so comfortable! Maybe the longer, and better, he sleeps the less cranky and obnoxious he will be when he is awake.

I’m not sure – he does sleep a lot, and the obnoxious level never seems to lessen.

Schooner napping whilst doing some cat yoga poses. He must find them boring, though stretching is good….or he is just really really tired, and napping is just far easier

If I was a cat, I think it would be all napping, all the time. No cat yoga for me!

He does look comfy – I can’t say I would feel the same way if I were contorted into that position.
