Way back in January 2017, I started taking pictures of my backyard. The goal was to take a picture once per week. While I didn’t quite get a picture every week, I got pretty close. Looking back at the video slideshow of those photos, I am so glad I made the effort to get all these pictures.
I’ll be doing the views again this year, and I took the first photo on Friday. I’ll have regular updates and slideshows as the year progresses. I know some of you have told me you’ll be doing your own views, so I look forward to seeing those – please let me know if you are planning on joining me!
As always, many thanks to Eliza for inspiring me with her Tuesday View posts, which are, in turn, part of a regular feature at Cathy’s blog, Words and Herbs.
Hi Sarah – Perhaps you would consider speeding up the timing. As interesting as it could be, the 7-1/2 minutes will seem like forever at the current speed. Just a thought. 🙂

Hey! The presentation finished at 2:13, but the video runs to 7:26. No doubt there is some legal jargon to explain it. 🙂

Thanks for the heads up – I used a new program and have no idea what happened. I cut off the end of the program, so now it seems like the proper length.

I didn’t realise you could get snow into March.

March? I wish that was when it ended! It would be a rare April without snow here. And I’ve seen it in May – and starting again in late September. Thankfully, the May and September snows are definitely outliers!

Yikes. If I was living in the US, I’d be wanting to live in Florida or Georgia I think 😃

I’d take either of those right about now!

May 16 is my favorite photo. It’s fun to see how the seasons affect your yard.

It really is – I am hoping to do better about taking pictures every week this year. I missed a fair number last year.

I love watching the trees go from dormancy to green and then back to dormancy. The cycles tumble onward. 🙂

Always – and I always enjoy seeing it (even when I can’t figure out how those changes are happening so fast these days).

I love it. I had thought about doing this, but I really don’t have an interesting spot in my yard. The house is surrounded by trees on 3 sides and a driveway on the other. LOL You’d see bare limbs, maybe a little snow, and leaves. That’s about it. I have found it interesting that, since living where I do, I have really noticed how much the angle of the sunrise changes and thought about trying to show that, but, again, no real place to take the pictures and it would force me to have to get up before sunrise at least once a week. LOL BTW, my favorite picture was Aug 1st, which is right before my birthday. It’s the only one I saw that had a flower showing in your flower box. I figured it was a gift for my birthday. 😉

I keep noticing that same picture when I look at them – I am glad it is a little post-birthday present! This year, I’m hoping to get some flowers planted out there, which would add a lot of interest to the pictures (and not just once per year).

What a great idea. You have a much better backyard than we do. Maybe we will take a picture of River’s “backyard” each week to see if it changes.

I think anyone could do it – our backyard is dramatic, but I think even doing a smaller, less scenic part of the yard would be fun (it might even change more, because you would notice all the small things instead of being concerned with the overall look).

I really do love this …. watching the seasons slowly merge and then those immense changes that occur at certain points is quite mesmerizing. I would love to join this … when I have a proper yard. At the moment I have (which is rare in the heart of the city) a small front garden and I’m not certain it would be very interesting. Watch this space – there is news that I can’t share upcoming in a while which would make it much more possible. International woman of mystery, and all that …. 😉

Ooh….I like a good mystery. And I do think a small garden would work – the changes wouldn’t be so dramatic, but sometimes drama is overrated. The small changes would be fun to see as well.

I think I will give it a go here – the garden is beautiful … very French and of course we do get plenty of changeable weather – I’ll pick a spot and start on Friday 🙂 As for the mystery … all in good time but I am REALLY excited 😉

I’ll be looking forward both to the garden pictures and to the mystery!

We must be very similar – and therefore, I feel bad for you with all the cold you must have right now!

I’m doing it again this year. I wonder how different (or similar) the two years will be.
