……actually that looks delicious! My son is often in Maine & has bought Duck breasts @ a farmers market…& prepared them…he likes it…I haven’t tried it, yet.

I love duck – we go to a restaurant which regularly has it on special. I always love it when they have it.

While I do like good Chinese duck, I remember an exquisite duck thigh confit in a French restaurant in Hi Chi Min (Saigon). It was amazing.

We tend to get ours with cherry or cranberry sauce, depending on the season.

They’re sweet!

I love having them out there. Our resident muskrats don’t, though – they’ll chase them off.

Quack! Quack! Looks like mostly males….females might have been riding brooms….🤣

It does tend to be male-heavy back there this time of year. Come spring, it’s a little less so.

A duck walked into a bar and ordered a drink. He said to the barman “put it on my bill.”

You have such a lovely estate. Are the ducks meant for roasting😉🤣🤣☺
LikeLiked by 2 people
I bet they would be tasty – though they are wild ones who just show up when they feel like it. As for our yard, it’s definitely not an estate – I wish it was that fancy!

Lol! If these ducks were in our lil red dot, I am sure they will be caught and roasted by some enterprising chef of sorts 😂😂. Just seeing the lovely lake and vegetation in its natural state is to me, already an estate ha ha!😊We are land scarce here and good class bungalows (GCB) with 5,000 sq ft gardens or lawns are already an “estate”- so to me, yours is definitely an “estate”😃

Compared to that, it’s definitely an estate!

Nice. Are they migrating South for the winter?
LikeLiked by 2 people
Probably – though the river typically has open water nearby most, if not all, winter. So they could (in theory) stick around, though if I were them, I’d head south.

Me too! I’m sure that river water is pretty darn cold in the dead of winter.

I wouldn’t want to go near it!

What do Schooner and Choppy make of these?
LikeLiked by 2 people
They’re a little too far from the house for Schooner to pay attention to them. Choppy ignores them – she generally doesn’t care much about birds.

It al looks quite “On Golden Pond-ish” and ever so peaceful.

It does – though with the soundtrack, it’s less peaceful. There’s a whole lot of quacking going on when the ducks are on the pond.

That is so divine !!! 🙂

It’s so great when the ducks are out there. It’s frozen now, so they’re elsewhere.

We love it (not so much when the mosquitoes are out in force, but it still looks great!).
