This week, we are so close to 500 days of taking a walk of at least a mile (spoiler alert, as Day 499 was actually Saturday: we make it to 500 days). I still look back and wonder about those early days, when we struggled to make it a mile. Now, that seems like nothing!

I’m pretty sure Choppy is thinking, “less picture taking, more walking!” in this picture. Also, she’s in such a hurry she is blurry!

Thee’s gotta be a bunny somewhere along this walk!
[Good job keep up with it]

Choppy lives in perpetual hope. Yesterday, I was on a walk without her and a raccoon ambled right in front of me. She would have thoroughly enjoyed that!

Too chewy and tough. Rabbit is far more appetizing and tender. Just saying.

Ha! I can’t say I’ve ever eaten a raccoon.

Great job Sarah… and Choppy of course. I bet Schooner enjoys your time away from home as well! 🙂

I’m sure he uses that time wisely – probably to bug Paul!

Just like anything else, it gets easy as we go on the journey. Well done to both of you.
Out of curiosity, how does Schooner feel when you go ahead to have this me time with Choppy 🙂

Schooner tends to watch us leave, and then I think he goes to do his own thing. He does usually greet us at the door when we return, though – so perhaps he misses us.

I guess he does 🙂

It’s amazing how the distance soon mounts up, and the easier it is to do it.
Maggie is slowing up so we can’t walk her as far, so we just do a shorter distance more often, so we’re still doing between 3 and 5 miles a day

That’s a lot of miles every day! I just found out yesterday Choppy has lost over 7 pounds since May – this was most welcome news, as she had been packing on the pounds despite all the walking.

It’s good for everyone isn’t it.

Great mileage this week! It is amazing how things that were once hard seem so easy once you get better at it. You two are doing great!

Thanks! I also see the exercise in our daily lives – I don’t mind walking places I would have driven in the past, and I even look for opportunities to walk!

Thank you! I’m so happy I started doing this. Choppy has lost 7 pounds since we upped the mileage in May – I can’t say the same for me, but I do feel far healthier and I know I am in better shape.

If you are ever in Ohio, or close to route 70, let me know!! I would meet you “with bells on!” 😊

That would be great! Funny enough, we’re right along I-70 right now – only it’s the part in Colorado!

I-70 keeps on going West? This is so cool to know, Sarah. Thanks for making me think about the possibilities. 😁

It does! The part through the Colorado mountains is one of the prettiest Interstates I’ve ever been on – it just cuts right between the mountains. Absolutely gorgeous!
