I enjoy watching them – though with Choppy around, they don’t tend to hang out much when she shows up. That’s probably a good thing for their own well-being!
Ray loves to chase squirrels. One was very lucky and managed to limp through the fence to safety. Another was not so fortunate, as Ray caught him across his hips. Sadly the squirrels hips were crushed so the poor “guy” was put down. So far, they are the only two that he has caught!
Ray has better luck than Choppy – she is still 0 for 1,000,000 against them. Now, bunnies? This summer she seems to have developed an ability to catch them. I’m not terribly fond of this development.
One of Tippy’s favorite animals to chase too. Since we live in the middle of a small forest, they have plenty of escape routes, so she hasn’t managed to catch one yet, that I know of.
As long as he doesn’t catch one……..

So far, no squirrels have met their end via Choppy. Bunnies….well, that’s a different (and far more unpleasant) story.

Squirrels have a great advantage: they can climb trees.

And they definitely do skedaddle up them when they see Choppy!

Choppy just chased one minutes before I got to the computer – it had the audacity to climb a tree before she could catch it.

Roxy would be there for this event, one of her favorites as well. 🙂

She and Choppy could chase them to their heart’s content around here – they seem to be growing in number every day.

Same with Choppy. I think ours are growing in number, thanks to the bird feeder food source I have provided them with.

Nice! Our Ray does the catch, and then he is ready to negotiate for treats! 🙂

Choppy hasn’t figured out the “catch” part yet, at least with the squirrels.

Good eating. Have it with fava beans and a nice chianti.

Very fortunately – I wouldn’t want to have to clean up after a squirrel death!
