Every year, Hayward, Wisconsin – a small town in northern Wisconsin – hosts the World Lumberjack Championships. If ever you find yourself in Hayward during the summer, they also have daily lumberjack shows, which are definitely worth the price of admission. Perhaps these two would like to attend sometime.
Travels with Choppy 
You either, snap quick pictures, or Choppy is the most patient, well-trained dog in history. Love the beard.

Choppy is incredibly patient – I have as much time to take pictures of her as I want, and she even lets me pose her.
On the other hand, to even get a picture like this of Schooner – no clothing, nothing beyond trying to make him look at the camera – is not always an easy task!

Choppy looks good in a beard. Can’t believe she holds still for that. I’m sure Tippy would have it off in 2 seconds. No. Wait. What am I saying? I’d probably never get it on her. LOL

It’s one of the many events at the competition – there’s also chain sawing, log rolling, tree climbing, basically anything actual lumberjacks would do as part of work. It’s fascinating.

I love this song – I can’t help but think of it when I think of lumberjacks. Perhaps next year, I should listen to some of the lyrics for this particular Howliday – it would certainly liven things up!
