Every year, Hayward, Wisconsin – a small town in northern Wisconsin – hosts the World Lumberjack Championships. If ever you find yourself in Hayward during the summer, they also have daily lumberjack shows, which are definitely worth the price of admission. Perhaps these two would like to attend sometime.
You either, snap quick pictures, or Choppy is the most patient, well-trained dog in history. Love the beard.

Choppy is incredibly patient – I have as much time to take pictures of her as I want, and she even lets me pose her.
On the other hand, to even get a picture like this of Schooner – no clothing, nothing beyond trying to make him look at the camera – is not always an easy task!

Ah Choppy girl, you need a shave sweetheart. 🙂

She does – it’s also how you know she’s getting older. She’s growing the lady beard.

Maybe there’s no admission price for the Lumberjacks…in that case Miss Choppy is a VIPL(umberjack) 😹

We’re smart enough not to give them any real weapons!

Choppy looks good in a beard. Can’t believe she holds still for that. I’m sure Tippy would have it off in 2 seconds. No. Wait. What am I saying? I’d probably never get it on her. LOL

She is a patient girl! Schooner makes up for Choppy’s patience with a complete lack of it.

Too bad got couldn’t dye Schooner blue to be Babe 😉

I wonder how much blood I would lose trying to dye Schooner a different color.

If it was red, you could just use your own blood 😉
Ouuuuuch!

True – I still think I will pass on cat dyeing for now!

I’m not sure how different lumberjack competition is from woodchop, but competitive woodchop is said to have had its genesis in Australia http://garydlum.co/woodccb64

It’s one of the many events at the competition – there’s also chain sawing, log rolling, tree climbing, basically anything actual lumberjacks would do as part of work. It’s fascinating.

It sounds similar to woodchop here. I’ll be enjoying some when I visit Brisbane later this month and attend The Ekka!

I love this song – I can’t help but think of it when I think of lumberjacks. Perhaps next year, I should listen to some of the lyrics for this particular Howliday – it would certainly liven things up!

The beard really kind of makes the entire look.

Choppy and his pet, Babe? Wait wasn’t Babe blue? Or is this a logger stand-in? 😆

We don’t have enough insurance to attempt to dye a cat around here!

It seems my inner Stephen King is still lingering around: I had quite different thoughts than lumberjack when I saw that axe 😉
Nice beard, Choppy! 😄
