Choppy, there’s something scary around your neck there.
(Also, I love the way her ears are in this picture – she doesn’t normally hold them out like that.)

She is staying very still so she doesn’t get bitten or strangled

Well, even if it is World Snake Day, I hope they [at least the venomenous ones] won’t come (too) close.
Have a wonderful Sunday,
Pit

Me too! I don’t like being startled by the non-poisonous ones, but other than that, we can all live harmoniously.

So brave Choppy 🙂 It is as if she ‘knows’ that she needs to be still, and show respect to the snake.

I hope that if ever we come across a poisonous one in the wild, she has as much situational awareness!

Maybe getting ready for a sequel to Indiana Jones?

Perhaps – I should have broken out the Indiana Jones costume for this one!

Choppy should visit Australia. Lots of snakes here to catch and get rid of!

Maybe you could catch some snakes & create some yummy recipes! I very recently saw some kids on TV, from a southern state here in the USA, who were talking about having Rattlesnake for dinner 😋😋…. people eat Eel, why not snakes?

Here they say about lots of different meats: “tastes like chicken”

I can’t really describe it. Even though it’s a reptile, it tasted different to crocodile, which was more like fish than chicken.

You can get rattlesnake on some restaurants out in Arizona – last time I tried to get some, though, they were all out of it.

Considering how many of those are poisonous, I’m not sure this is a good idea!

Choppy is fast, she just needs to grab them from behind the head and shake!

I’m not sure you would call Choppy “fast” if you saw her in person!

St. Patrick rid the island of them! (Well, supposedly, at least). Thanks for dropping by!

Choppy does look a little bit unsure about this one. Tippy has found snakes in the wild before – fortunately, not poisonous. She will bark at them, but seems to instinctively know how far away she needs to stay to not get bitten. I have to put her leash on to pull her away from them so they can go hide. Silly dog. But, at least I know she will find them for me when we are taking our walks and I won’t unexpectedly walk up to one.

Choppy doesn’t seem to see them – we were once on a hike and there were hundreds of them (garter snakes). She didn’t seem to see any of them. I think it must be something about their smell (or lack of it).

The snake looks a bit like Kaa from Walt Disney’s “Jungle Book”. 😉
