Sunrise is such a beautiful time of the day to go for a walk. It’s quiet (except for the sounds of nature) and the colors are truly magnificent.

It really is a great time of the day. For years, I would sometimes have to wake up around sunrise, as opposed to my normal, later wake up time. Every time I did, it felt great to be up that early, but I could not make myself rise a little earlier and get that great start to the day. When I started the Dog Walk Challenge, it forced me to start waking up early so I could get those longer walks in. The early wake up time has been an absolute joy – those early hours of the day have become my most productive hours. I don’t think I will go back to waking up later any time soon!

Now you also understand why retired people enjoying retired living usually get up early, as well, to start their day. Those who LIVE LIFE never seem to have enough hours in the day. Those who allow LIFE to lead them can’t remove the hours quickly enough!

And me, too – last night, I let her out our front door where there is no fence. She usually just goes out, and either lies down to keep an eye on the street, or does her business and comes back in. Last night, she took off after a rabbit and did not come back for several minutes. Someone is going to have a closer eye on her for a few days!

We have a small ‘keychain’ light we attach to Wren at night so we can track her in the dark. It’s like seeing Tinkerbelle dancing along about 18″ off the ground. 🙂

Nice! Choppy has her light up collar, but I only use that for walks.

A beautiful morning captured very well in your pictures. Nothing like a good rabbit chase. Chancy caught a squirrel a couple days ago. He was so proud of his catch, made me sad for the squirrel. Hugs and nose kisses

Thankfully, Choppy has yet to catch any creatures that inhabit the yard (though if she finds one someone else took care of, it’s still awful).

Lovely time for a walk. Your pictures are wonderful. Choppy is keeping those bunnies on their toes.

She is! There are some groundhogs out now, too – she has been leaving them alone for the most part, so just the bunnies suffer through her.

She’d better watch out for those groundhogs. They can be mean little critters.
