We can’t celebrate books enough! Give me a good mystery and I can easily be transported.

There are never too many celebrations of books! Though I do try to tell myself that perhaps we don’t need to celebrate with so many books when I look at my Kindle and see the hundreds of unread books on there.

Thanks for the reblog! And we really can’t ever have too many books (as my hundreds of e-books and regular books on my Kindle and lying around my house attest!).

She is reading Poe – there’s a lot to contemplate in there.

I found one of my cats slumped over a stack of books, asleep. Do you suppose he found them boring or read them all? 😀

As a cat, perhaps he thought they were a backward box?

So many books, so little time! 😉

Most definitely – and the hundreds of unread books on my Kindle and bookshelves second that statement!

She does – though those are so many prescriptions ago, they don’t do anything for me!

Choppy, you look very scholarly. Poe is one of those writers I say I love, but I really haven’t read a lot of his stuff. I should put that on my to-so list.

I think I always pick it up intending to read more, then I end up finding something else. I don’t think I’ve actually read any since I got out of school!

I do want to read some more of the “classics” that I either didn’t read in school or read, but have forgotten. I read Robinson Crusoe for the first time about 5 years ago and really enjoyed it. I wish I had chosen it over The 3 Musketeers when I was in high school. I picked it, thinking it would be fun and short. Boy, was I wrong!

I’ve been trying to read at least one classic a year for the last few years. Some are much better than others. I thoroughly enjoyed the Count of Monte Cristo, though if you didn’t enjoy The Three Musketeers, I am guessing you wouldn’t like it, either!

Well, I was in high school and on a deadline when I read it before. I just had a really hard time keeping the names straight. I’d do better if they were Jim, Dave, and Sam. LOL I have a feeling I might like it better now that I’m older and could take my time reading it.

Very very studious ! That is a good look for you, Choppy. Now all you need to do is read a story or a poem to Schooner 🙂

Something tells me Choppy might alter the stories or poems a bit to insult Schooner.

….. “Schooner!” said I, “thing of evil!—prophet still, if cat or devil!
By that Heaven that bends above us—by that God we both adore—
Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn,
It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Sarah—
Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Sarah.”
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

Very nice! You remember a lot more of that than I do – I would have gotten the last line…and then thrown in the fun fact that only one professional sports team is named after a poem – the Baltimore Ravens!

It’s really become my go to fiction this last year or so. Before that, I read very little. I guess tastes change!
