Below, I have another video of the bird feeders from Day 297 for you. Choppy is there in the beginning, as is Schooner. Near the end, though, we have a surprise visitor!
Date: February 20, 2017
Location: Home
Length: 1.3 Miles
Who: Sarah & Choppy
What a brave Kitty! You’ve attracted many squirrels with your generosity 😮

Many! They don’t know what might be coming to them, though!

More squirrels than birds!

They birds aren’t big enough to set off the motion detector on the camera! I don’t know if I can (or would want to) make it more sensitive. The birds flit in and out of there from pretty much the moment the sun comes up until it goes down.

That could be – I’ve seen five out there at once, so there are definitely that many around.

Ah, was that Schooner making a surprise passage outside in the windy weather?

It wasn’t – I think it was a cat we sometimes see out and about. He’s a little feral guy.

Squirrels definitely seem to be your main visitors. The neighbor’s cat left it a bit too late, I think. Might have had supper if he’d come through earlier. 😉

The squirrels are the only things big enough to set off the motion detector (well, them and cats). Only one bird I’ve seen has set it off – a big red-bellied woodpecker, who showed up at the feeder closest to the window. The video ends up being deceptive, because the chickadees and juncos are definitely the most common visitors (with a fair smattering of nuthatches, cardinals, goldfinches, various sparrows/finches and woodpeckers thrown in as well).

Nice variety of birds – it’s Schooner’s big screen TV. 😉
