The ice has now been joined by cold here in Wisconsin. Poor Choppy hasn’t gotten a full walk in days. I can’t wait for next week when the weather is going to turn downright spring-like (unless the weather people are lying to us, which I wouldn’t put past them).
Date: January 12, 2017
Location: Home
Length: 1.9 Miles (but only .2 outside)
Temperature: 15° F (-9.4° C), feels like 5° (-15°)
Who: Sarah & Choppy
Poor Choppy, such abuse by Schooner! 🙂

And she continues to put up with it – she is a truly patient dog!

But luckily Schooner’s paws are too short!

He gets pretty close if he really makes an effort – and Choppy gets a little too close!

Cabin fever is the pits. Hope the weather cooperates and provides sweet Choppy with a reprise from constant cat swatting.

The weather is supposed to improve dramatically now – starting tomorrow, it looks like we’ll be able to get our walks outside, barring really bad rain!

Schooner’s just stretching! Down. At Choppy. OK, that’s a swipe…

I’m guessing if he could talk, he would definitely claim he was only stretching!

Schooner just does not stop ! Playtime is never ending. (Schooner reminds me of my youngest cat, she does not stop either, LOL)

It really doesn’t ever end! And those days are long past for Choppy. I’m thinking Schooner is calming down a bit now, though he is still much more playful than old Choppy.

How old is Schooner Sarah?

I think about 18 months now. He is starting to calm down. I mean, don’t get me wrong, he still has more energy than Choppy had even as a puppy, but there is definitely a clear decrease in the energy level.

Today will be a nice 32 °C here today 😃
Stay warm inside.

Being from somewhere cold, that temperature seems outrageously hot – I would probably stay inside with the AC on and hope for cooler weather!

My favourite temperature range is between 28 and 32 °C. Especially if I’m in a shady spot with a gentle sea breeze and a cool refreshing drink in my hand.

Now, if you give me shade and a cocktail, I’ll take those temperatures!

Shade is always an important feature of living in a warm climate. You’re welcome to the cocktails, sadly I can’t drink alcohol.

Hope you don’t start melting…stay “cool” inside! 😮

Melting is not a problem for us!

Thanks! They were being particularly cute. And mischievous, in the case of Schooner.

Hope they aren’t lying and you can get outside. We’ve had nice temperatures here, but it has been raining, so I am still inside more than I would like to be.

It warmed up today but is very rainy. Maybe tomorrow if the rain has stopped; if not, by Wednesday we should be back on the normal outdoor walk!

I bet she misses it if she doesn’t go out. Doing something for more than 200 days is a credit on it’s own.
Well done guys.

Thanks! We’re close to only having 100 days to hit 365 – I can’t believe we’re so close, considering how I was only going to do a month when we started!

It’s supposed to be plenty warm in the next few days – hopefully the rain we’re getting now will stop (of course, I have spent the last few days in the very cold northern part of the state, but I still braved the cold!).

Brrr!! It has been cold and icy this week following a warmer weekend. I slid down three brick steps and hurt my back and tailbone due to black ice and not enough salt on them. Take it easy, Sarah!

( Ouch! Being sore is a lot better than breaking something or shattering an elbow, like I know someone did! )

This is true – still not fun, but it could be worse!
