Despite the snow – or maybe because of it – I have been loving our morning walks. I need to remind myself of this in a couple days, when our lows start hitting the single digits (the Fahrenheit single digits, to be clear).
Date: December 6, 2016
Location: Jefferson, Wisconsin
Length: 1.3 Miles
Who: Sarah & Choppy
And a video! Everyone makes an appearance, including Paul and me (though ours are very brief appearances).
Snowing here today so be prepared for it coming your way soon. Wondering if anything can be done about those digits. Brrrrrr ☃️

We have snow in the forecast for the weekend – along with some frigid temperatures. It’s already almost too cold to snow!

At 8:45 am, it’s 1 glorious degree!

We are supposed to get in the teens for highs on Friday. I’m not ready for that either.

I don’t know what happened to the beginning of winter – we went from fall to January in a few hours!

That seems to happen around here a lot too. It didn’t get as cold as they were expecting, only 24. Tomorrow may be a different story. On a brighter note, Tippy absolutely loves this weather.

Choppy seems to enjoy it as well! She stuck her head out the car window for 20 minutes yesterday. Granted, at the time it was a balmy 20 degrees, but with the wind chill of driving 35 mph, that couldn’t have been warm. She seemed to love it!

Dogs! I guess it’s because of their fur coat they always have on. Still, 20 degrees with a 35mph wind chill had to be cold, even to Choppy.

I would think so, but she seemed unfazed!

Seems all Choppy did all day – and night – was wait for your return! 🙂 Oh and bark a bit 🙂

I think that is pretty typical whenever I leave the house – it makes me feel both loved and sad, as she clearly wants to come with me everywhere.

Aw – but at least Choppy is not chewing up furniture, so not too stressed with separation anxiety. 🙂

Very true – she would rather we were home, but if we’re not at least it gives her time to sleep in peace!

I’m embarrassed to admit that I ate Play-Doh as a kid! 😳

Based on this warning, you certainly weren’t alone!

Cool video 🙂 Hope you are wearing more than sandals these days on your walks ! 🙂

Sadly, I have had to break out the boots for our walks. I am already looking forward to the return of sandal weather!

We were actually out to supper Friday and they had a Countdown to St. Patrick’s Day, which was 98 days away at that point. It will be mostly spring by then, which really doesn’t seem that far away!

Wrap up warmly!
BTW, what brand boots do you wear?

Sorel – I actually wear my old Sorels for walking, which I got in middle school (that makes them probably 25 years old). They don’t look nice, but they are as warm as the day I bought them. Last year I finally broke down and bought a new pair for when I need to wear them with company. They’re the updated version of the pair I have been wearing almost forever!

I have a similar pair of old LLBean ones I bought in 1989, where you could buy replacement liners and have them resoled. Sadly, Beans no longer sell these boots, so I had to get Sorel’s which aren’t as warm, but a felt footpad solved that problem. They don’t make ’em like they used to. 😉

That was probably about when I got the old ones – maybe a year or two after that. I still prefer those to the new ones, though they admittedly don’t look anywhere near as good!

I wonder if wheat can be adsorbed thru your skin, or smelling it can cause a reaction?

I don’t know – I just assumed it was because so many kids eat Play-Doh!

I watched the video after this one also… cute how Schooner sits in Choppy’s view. Schooner makes a better door than a window! 😉

He really does – and I think he does it on purpose.
