An easier-than-some “Where’s Choppy?” post went up earlier – it’s here, if you missed it.
We’re getting close to the end of the Dog Walk Challenge – I am considering an extension, as I have really, really enjoyed it. Even better, Choppy seems to be reaping some benefits from it in terms of appearance (they didn’t weigh her at the vet, so I can’t be sure she has lost weight – but she sure looks like she has).

Who: Sarah & Choppy
Choppy looks like a champion wader! That’s all my boys do so far. Breck has attempted it to get to another border collie who did swim. He realized quickly it was harder than it looked.

Choppy is definitely not a swimmer. She can swim, but she is not good at it (not good at all). Usually, her swims happen when the water is deeper than she expected (though once, she decided to make a flying leap at some geese). As for wading, she can never get enough!

This is exactly how the boys are. Wading champions 😉

Continue walking as it benefits both of you! The time together can be priceless also…. bonus! 🙂

It really has been a great challenge – for both of these reasons. We’re definitely going to extend it. I just need to decide how long!

“Play it by ear” and maintain flexibility. Some days may encourage a long walk, while others……….! 🙂

Yes – for us, the warm weather is the killer. Wisconsinites are not meant for the heat!

Long walks are good for the body and soul – I’m sure Choppy is game for an extension! (I think she does look trimmer.)

I am certainly game for an extension – we’re definitely going to do it. I just have to decide how long we’re going to extend it!

As long as you want! 😉

Enjoying the water, and cooling off, when it’s shallow, is more important than swimming. 😄

A good thing, too – Choppy only swims when necessary (I feel similarly about running).

We definitely are going to keep it up – I just need to determine the next milestone to aim for!

I’ll bet that water was refreshing. For a “wader” there is an awful lot of body submerged. 🙂

Her wading also involves sitting and lying down – just so long as her four paws stay on the ground, she is happy to be in the water!

You should extend it especially if she enjoys it that much and like you said, she looks better, hot, I mean 🙂
Have a fab wk.

I think you should extend it. It should be a habit by now and you will both miss it if you stop. Choppy looks like he is enjoying getting cooled off in the water.
